About Tabitha Foundation

Our Board

Tabitha Foundation Singapore has no paid employees but we are always looking for talented, passionate and skilled volunteers.

The Executive Committee is comprised of:

Karen Magill - President

Following a period on the Board as Secretary, I am delighted and honoured to be leading Tabitha Singapore as President. We have a bright and enthusiastic new team to step in to the shoes of those volunteers who are moving out of Singapore and who have contributed so generously over the last few years.

There is lots to learn, but we are committed to continuing our predecessors' good work, helping to facilitate the excellent programmes which make life just that little bit better for so many people in Cambodia. Tabitha is a charity that is definitely making a difference - I find it very inspiring that it never sits still though and is constantly looking at new ways of improving quality of life for Cambodian families.

I am very proud to be associated with such a worthwhile organisation and look forward very much to working with all our volunteers in Singapore.

Katia Melazzi - Vice President

Katia

I first heard about Tabitha great results through my son school. There are so many worthy causes to support in Singapore but Tabitha has such a simple yet compelling philosophy, and a tremendous impact. Indeed, it gives hope to some of the most destitute of Cambodia’s people in achieving sustainable and dignified livelihoods. Since Tabitha Cambodia was founded in 1994 it has earned a reputation for professionalism and sustainability. The statistics are of great proportions, the Foundation has helped 4 million of the poorest Cambodians to raise themselves from poverty to self-sufficiency.

I cannot recommend Tabitha highly enough to anyone willing to give back to the community in a truly rewarding way. I feel privileged to be a part of such an organisation, and proud of what we are able to achieve for the families of Cambodia.

Michaela Sauveur - Secretary

Since moving to Singapore a little over two years ago and visiting Cambodia, I have followed the life changing work that the Tabitha Foundation has achieved. I have been amazed by the new homes and schools that have been built, the new water sources that have been introduced and the success of both the Family Partnership Programme and the Cottage Industry Programme, which have enabled so many Cambodian families to change their lives.

When the opportunity arose to get involved myself and to offer my governance skills and experience to the role of Secretary, I jumped at the chance. Volunteering for Tabitha is such a rewarding experience and I am immensely honored to be part of such an amazing foundation.

Tatiana Serova - Treasurer

Tabitha Foundation has been helping poverty-stricken Cambodians families for over two decades now. By fundraising, teaching new skills and providing jobs in a cottage industry environment Tabitha has presented long-term solutions to poverty.

This complex approach, beautiful silk products and a wonderful team of volunteers made me excited about being able to make my small contribution to Tabitha’s future success.

In addition to the Executive, we have a members committee who meet on a regular basis:

Cottage Industry Sales - Sandie Smith

House Building - Lisa Newman

Schools Co-ordinator - Isabel Urrutia
