Tabitha Foundation Cambodia is a sustainable, non-profit organization which was founded in 1994 by Janne Ritskes to restore hope and dignity to the people of Cambodia and help them rebuild their lives after decades of war, displacement and unspeakable inhumanity largely at the hands of the Khmer Rouge regime.

Tabitha aims to instill a sense of self-worth within Cambodians through programmes that promote sel-sufficiency and security for individuals - primarily women - and their families in some of the poorest communities.

Tabitha operates with minimal overhead and running costs. All funds are used to help the poorest people in Cambodia through programmes that focus on personal and financial development.

Tabitha's main activity is the Savings Programme (Family Partnerships). Before joining Tabitha, many families have no savings or may only save a few cents each week as the average family earns less than $1(US) a day. Through Savings, people set goals to make their lives better. Tabitha staff make weekly visits to families in the programme to offer support and collect the savings. After 10 weeks, the families receive back their savings - they use the money to buy items they need thus achieving their initial goals. Then they start the cycle again, with new dreams and goals. Families graduate from Tabitha in 5-7 years, after which they have enough food, clean water, shelter and a sustainable source of income.

Since 1994, Tabitha Cambodia has reached over half million people though our high impact community development programmes.

Tabitha currently works in 37 areas, within 15 provinces in Cambodia, providing programmes that make significant changes in the lives of the Cambodian people.
